We met our newest gift from God:
Kier Ellis-Grey
entered our lives on September 4, 2014
at 12:58 AM.
(The timing of his arrival was perfect because he shares his birthday with a very special someone,
our Poppa, my daddy.)
He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces,
measured 21 inches long,
and had a head of dark hair with deep blue eyes.
Behind his name...
Kier is my maiden name. It was our way of naming him after people we love in a big way and gave me the ability to carry on my name into our family.
Ellis is the Greek version of Elijah which means
"the Lord is my God"
which is what we hope for this little man to cling to one day very soon.
Grey is Nana's(Scott's grandmother) middle name. With Grey, we were able to bring both families together into one name.
This little man is already loved so much. He is our chunky monkey-he eats all.the.time. He sleeps.ohgoodnessgracious.He sleeps! His laugh will make your eyes crinkle and your cheeks hurt from smiling. He makes the funniest sounds, which big bro and momma call his 'elephant noises'. He talks with coos and oos and ahs and his mouth makes the most perfect O. He loves being held. He goes from fine to definitely NOT FINE in seconds. He has Finley's baby pouty face-the cutest, most puckered up, red faced, not happy cry you've ever seen. He has the Kier nose (which seems fitting). He's pretty laid back, for a baby. Already, he follows his big brother's voice and takes his kisses in stride. He's our big baby and we were so happy to welcome him into our family.
Isaiah 12:2-5
Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
And you will say in that day:
Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing praises to the Lord,
for he has done gloriously;
let this be made known in all the earth.
