Recipe

(for how to survive the first night home from the hospital with a newborn)

Trusting God's timing, mix the following ingredients well.
*an adorable, brand-new baby boy who does not want to sleep because he prefers the home he's had the last 10 months
*a heaping bowl of God's grace
*a full-time husband
(i.e. one who is willing to tackle every insecurity, worry, question head-on and by your side (even if it means lack of sleep))
*a cup of Mom/Yaya willing to sacrifice sleep to give you some much needed rest

*a dash of advice from a friend and mother of four willing to text back and forth at all hours (Thank you Allyson!)
*a few tears

When mixed, your end result should be the morning dawn kissing the nose of your sweet little one and the realization that contrary to your belief in the middle of the night, you made it through the first night, all three of you, and life remains, blessed with a slight lack of sleep, but blessed!

Such a great post! I've been thinking about ya. It's a good thing those sweet babies are worth everything they put us through. :-)
