So, the trip to Atlanta ended over a week ago, but since stepping on my doorstep late Sunday nite, I haven't had a chance to blog. The trip was awesome; despite VT losing to UNC and then UNC having a disappointing loss to FSU. We watched 9 ACC bball games in person, not counting the games we watched after we left the GA dome on the TV. The Syracuse 6 overtimes game?? WOW! We spent hours upon hours meeting new people, screaming for our teams, and yelling against Dook. Sorry, but the ability to cheer for the Dookies will NOT be a habit of mine anytime in the near future.
Our hotel, the Westin Perimeter, was amazing and we even took a few hours to shop. (Thanks Scott!) We found a great sports bar, "TacoMac", right down from the dome with great wings and 57 taps at the bar! We also hit our hotel restaurant, which was a yummy and laid back meal. Honestly, what I loved the most was the time we spent together, just Scott and me. We laughed a lot, caught up on the little things, and once again, found little jokes to share with each other. On the way down, we listened to music and talked about our plans for the weekend and tried to keep each other's eyelids open until 1:30 AM when we arrived. On the return trip, we played the Question Game, resurrected from our dating days, and I learned little things about my sweet man that I didn't know before the game.
The trip was long overdue, but well worth the wait. I fell more in love with my best friend and found more reasons to like him. The only negative about the whole trip was how much we missed our little one. Now we are home. Life is moving along. We remain blessed and thankful for the life our great God has seen fit to give us.
PS COLLEGE BBALL continues.....hee hee....love the tourney!!! ;)
