Game Day

Saturday was the first GAME DAY in a long time. It seemed like longer because this spring was difficult due to April 16...However, this past Saturday was a step towards healing. Scott woke up at 6:30 AM (yea whoever thought football games should be at noon is crazy!) and when he came to wake me, he said "I am so excited baby! It's GAMEDAY!" :) Needless to say, he had a blast. We had the privilege of drivin up and hanging out with Shawn and Heather! In the midst of festivities, maroon and orange and tailgating, and the presence of signs that thanked countless Universities for support, it was fun to catch up and share about our lives. Simply, we had fun and were just Tech fans. The entire day was emotionally taxing; however, our spirits soared with the 32 orange balloons and our hearts and eyes cried again in remembrance. We all agreed when we lost sight of the balloons behind the stadium, it felt like we had lost them again, but this time we chose to let them go and to fly away on a gentle breeze. We won (although not the most excellent of games), we won! Hokie football has begun and we're cheering yet again.
